Amazon Unveils Four New Kindle E-Readers

Amazon has just revealed a lineup of four new Kindle e-readers, including the groundbreaking Colorsoft Signature Edition, which marks the first color Kindle. In addition to this, there’s an upgraded Kindle Scribe for note-taking, a faster version of the popular Paperwhite, and a revamped entry-level Kindle.

The announcement was initially made in Spanish with U.S. pricing, but the link was redirected shortly after, creating some confusion (an archived version is available). While the details were sparse and product pages were not yet live, we now have confirmed information about all four devices, along with our first impressions of the Colorsoft Signature Edition, Scribe, entry-level Kindle, and updated Paperwhite.

The Colorsoft Signature Edition Kindle is designed to deliver vibrant, paper-like colors for book covers and highlighted text, allowing images to be zoomed in without any pixelation issues. It boasts a waterproof design, rapid page-turning capabilities, wireless charging, and an impressive battery life of up to eight weeks. Additionally, it features a new light guide equipped with nitride LEDs and will retail for $279.99, shipping on October 30.

The Kindle Scribe, priced at $399.99, will be available for delivery on December 4, with preorders commencing today.

As for the Kindle Paperwhite, Amazon claims it is the “fastest Kindle yet.” This best-selling device has been updated with a larger 7-inch screen, making it slimmer than previous models while maintaining a battery life of up to three months. It is also water-resistant and comes with 16GB of storage. The new Paperwhite starts at $159.99, while the Paperwhite Signature Edition offers 32GB of storage, wireless charging, and an auto-adjusting front light for $199.99.
